Any ol' school 1D'er looking for a really really really cheap Sigma 300mm 2.8 should check it out. If I already didn't have my 2.8 L IS I'd pick it up for sure.

Have fun with it. Great camera indeed. Like I said, would have never ever sold it if I didn't need good hight ISO. My need is the good high iso, my want was a super fast camera with 45 AF points. Guess I could have went 1dMKIII if I werent a broke college kid. :D

Hey! I'm in my 30's! Man I wish I was 23 again. I could do whatever and go through a tumble dry and wake up fresh the next day.

I know! I came back from the event with around 400 pictures, all of which went straight up onto PB as-is. Not one was terribly OOF, not one needed sharpening or any kind of adjustment. The worst problems I ran into were dud-angles. :- )

I like these results with minimal adjustments. I'm sure I would have had to do more putzing with the 40D to be as pleased. (Yes, I'm using the 1D for about everything lately I realized it had been neglected after a special discussion with a potn'er about 1D's) This thing is like a friend.

just got mine today. it has firmware 1.4 which from what i can tell is the latest, no? i am also wondering if you have to press menu buttons and turn dial at same time or if there is a cfn that allows - press, release, turn dial, select - like on 30D? probably not but thought i would ask. raining here so i am going to let it slow down and go take some pics. too bad my only EF lens is a 400 5.6 till new one comes on wednesday. thanks for response.
