i'm going to use my classic 1D (for the 1st time) this coming F1 night race here in SG.i hope i can get good results with regards to its ISO. Any tips from the experts here?

thanks

I get good results night shooting moving targets using a 380ex tv and iso 400-800.You will have some good flood lighting so focus should not be an issue but how close you can get to the action will be the biggest probelm, wish I could be there.Which lens are you going to use?

I had one of these! i had a 20D, bought a lens of a man on ebay, met up with him to collect it etc, but he bought this 1D along too, i had a little play and was in love with it, he said i could have it for £300! it was nearly 2 years ago though and at this point they were still hitting £600 ish on ebay, so i also took it

am so gutted i sold it now though! the images out of it were great, i know it had small pixel count etc but the pictures were so nice and sharp the noise had a nice look to it,,

i thought ill sell it, then get the 1D mk3
so i did,,,,, and this mk3 annoys the hell out of me most of the time, the noise is all blotchy, its not even 2 years old and the paint is all chipping off! pictures are VERY hit and miss i find (focus) dont think the pictures are sharp at all out of camera (most of the time)

i got a 1ds mk2 a few months back, now that i am in love with! sharp pictures, the noise is nice and fine, love the full frame
only hate the screen,,,,, as its Sooooo small and in studio its hard to judge if ive got the power right, as it looks ok on screen but then on PC they will be over or under exposed,, but with my 1dmk3 i can set up flashes easy and they turn out perfect

lets hope the mk4 will be ALOT better! it defo needs to be for me to spend that sort of money with canon again, im quite annoyed what they have done with the 5D mk2 aswell,,, all these people that have gone for the 1ds mk3,,,, £5000 odd!,,,, then they come along and stick the same sensor if not better in a 5D for half the price,,,,,,,,, thats annoyed me! sorry if ive gone a bit off subject

what are you writing about, good man?
1d mk3 has LESS noise than 1ds mk2!

I found one on local craigslist for $200. Should I jump on it? It doesn't have a battery or charger but I got some extras from my 1Ds.

If it works it's worth twice that....

Thats an easy fix. just clone out the dust in PS or clean the sensor off with a blower or wet cleaning kit.

even easier to either clean it or sent it in to have it cleaned.

Maybe you could lure that little spider off of your sensor with a dead fly or something...
