Theres one on ebay.co.uk for a starting bid of £420 - no takers so far....

Personally I'd rather have a 5D or a 40D....

there's a good copy at fredmiranda for $700.

I've already got the 5D and a 20D but the 20D just dont cut it for the kiteboarding and wildlife stuff i wanna pursue this year..
I found a mint model wilth 9500 clicks and a high seriel no for under £500..

^^^ seems like a good price if it's something you need. Yup, do it!

the pictures prove !
never sell a 1D 4,2 if you like making nice photo,s and there is no need to showing off with mark III
it sure is heavy with L glass bud all good stuff is allways haevy ( woman not allways )

Wow...you almost derailed my inspiration to obtain a 1D. 20 or 30 seconds is plenty for anything I want to do.....(Whew!)

And when I said start, I mean a couple of dots, not a whole bunch. Definitely useable for normal photography. I want something around 2-5 minutes clean.

I would want one just for the 1/500th synch speed! That would be so nice.

Wow, it's funny to read that and see how far we've come. The 1D hasn't been that blown out of the water IMHO because it has the FPS and AF of a 1 series... But look at the D60 stats and think to what the newer versions have now. ISO 1000 max, 3 af points... Wow. Nothing against it as it was groundbreaking at the time, but we've come a long way...
