Yeah for a lens you don't pay much for it is of good build quality ,distorts a bit at 24 but is very sharp with good colour and contrast,bought it cos I couldn't afford the efs 17-85 and very pleased I did as it is better,as I collected more lenes I gave it to my daughter for her 450d .Also makes an excelent everyday lens for the 1.3 crop 1D. It's a great step up from 18-55s and stuff, and it's probably the best non-expensive variable aperture zoom, but a 1D deserves more IMHO.
