photomom: thanks! she'd be glad to hear that :)

Dores: thank you :)

nrowensby: using a small lens on the beast feels great, no imbalance issues whatsoever. ;)

alright so Im about to order this lens but I just want to make sure it will work on my 1D and its the right one. The long title kind of confuses me and someone told me a certain type of lens doesnt work on the 1D classic so I just want to be sure.

That Tamron 28-75 will work great on a 1D. It's a full frame lens.

I'm just loving the way this camera works with my 100-400. So smooth!

1D classic and that tamron lens is a killer combination. I don't think you'll have a problem with gear for a while.

That is great news... especially since I just sold my 50/1.8mkI to pick up a 50/1.8mkII by FisherPrice

JK, I know the photos the 50/1.8 can produce and am excited to see how it works on the larger sensor.

Look pretty good, how's the focusing on the 1D? I'm waiting on a 35-135 USM to come in from KEH...

I got a 24-85 3.5/4.5 recently and it works great on 1D bodies. These older USM lenses are very fun and affordable.

I'm sure this is in the manual, but it didn't come with my camera... How do I make the 1D work with my M42->EOS adapter w/o electrical contacts? I'm getting Error1 and it seems to me that there should be a custom function or something that bypasses this error?

A/F on the 28~105 and 35~135 are fast on the 1D but abit slower than if fitted to a 50D..;)

Wow... Coming from XSi to 1D is a huuuge leap. The focusing is smoking fast compared to the XSi, even on my non-USM 50/1.8mkI that I will be shipping off on Monday
