You can't get replacement shutters anymore.

I don't see a lot of shutter failures with the 1D classic because [correct me if I'm wrong] the shutter is electonic and switches the sensor on and off ,Although it does also have a mechanical shutter as well but not used at hi speed shotting mode.Question, does the Mk11 have this same setup ,I see a lot of them fail

You are absolutely right. The mk2 has a purely mechanical shutter since they switched to the CMOS sensor that can't simply be switched on like the CCD of the original 1D. You definitely hear more about mk2 shutter failures, but that's probably because they are more widely used these days.

If it's due to the electronic high speed shutter on the 1D, then well, that's just one more of the perks of the "classic".

Couple test snaps out of my dorm window with my new Rokinon 14mm f2.8. Lot of fun to shoot with...

The electronic shutter should be reintroduced, the high flash sync speeds cannot be matched by a mechanical one and 1/250th just isn't enough in most situations.

I absolutely loved my Nikon D40 and its CCD sensor. the flash sync speed of 1/500th was simply amazing in a camera that size. even though it was only 6.1 mp, there were a lot more keepers shooting in jpg than with my 40D, probably because the LCD on the Nikon was much better. I also feel like my copy was the sharpest ever produced :)

The D70 and D70s do it too.

I've got 40-50k on my 1D.
