Thanks, I will try a few different lenses and batteries to see if that fixes it.

I joined the 1d Classic club - kind of. I just received one from KEH with a little power left in the battery and it was working fine. I recharged the battery and now receive an error 99 when I turn on the camera  I contacted KEH, but is there anything I should try while waiting for their response?

nice to see that you joined the club! too bad about the error 99. Hopefully KEH takes care of it.

Have you tried more than one lens on the 1D? How about cleaning the contacts on the camera where the lens attaches?
One a side note, when I bought my 1D I received an error 99 with the original canon battery after a few times on the charger. Luckily I had bought a few Lenmar replacement batteries from Newegg and never had the problem with any of them. Only the original Canon would give that error.

How does Lenmar battery perform? I saw one on Amazon and I was wondering how long it would last..And also I just received 1d from KEH and it seems like front focusing..I have several lenses and 5dc and all those lenses focus right on the 5d..Should I return to KEH and ask for a replacement? Sending it to Canon for recalibration would cost much...:(

The Lenmars are the best replacement battery you can buy for the 1D and 1DII as well as the 1DS and 1DSII. I did alot of research on third party batteries for those cameras and they not only fit the same as their Canon counterparts but they seem to have a much better life expectancy also while shooting . And for $40.00 from Newegg you can't go wrong.

My sister, the professional baker and cake decorator once told me that my camera takes great pics. My reply was that I thought her oven baked great cakes.

I bought mine off of Adorama nearly a month ago and it came with a 60 day warranty. I've noticed the rear lcd does not always properly work and the shutter button occasionally doesnt focus, etc. Im sending mine out to adorama for warranty and a calibration once my 50D comes back from canon for calibration and cleaning haha.

as for batteries, I ended up purchasing one of the 2200amh ebay ones and have not had any issues. I went a full wedding shoot without having to change batteries, I want to say 700+ images without charge issues.

Geeky, how's Adorama used? Mine from Keh was rated BGN(bargain) right below EX(Excellent) and it is pretty damaged cosmetically. I wonder how V rate at Adorama look like? And also, is calibration included in the Adorama Warranty? Maybe I should return mine for a refund at Keh and get one from Adorama.

It should be covered under warranty, as for the V-rating its pretty used. you can see it and the shutter count is HIGH up there at 250xxx :(

If you ever want to see some pictures of a unit before orderring just drop me an email: HelenO@adorama.com (external link)

BTW you have a 30-day returns period included in the 90-day warranty, so if you aren't happy with the cosmetic appearance you can simply return it!

I've had excellent luck with these. Amazon carries them as well.

Another vote for Lenmar. I find the fit to be on the tight side (maybe a good thing in terms of waterproofing), but I'm getting over 500 shots to a battery.
