I sold mine when I switched from Canon to Nikon, Pentax and Sony. Wish I could have kept it due to the fact I took some great photos with it but time marches on. Please post some photos though, I still like seeing images taken with the ccd of that camera.

My sister, the professional baker and cake decorator once told me that my camera takes great pics. My reply was that I thought her oven baked great cakes.

Well, sharing information then perhaps? I was just thinking the other day using the 7d that I had never actually looked into the history of Canon digital cameras. Pentax I know but the only reason I even started buying Canon equipment was because I stumbled on a supposedly non working ef100mm macro a number of years ago and bought it for next to nothing. I made an adapter so I could mount it on a Pentax Q camera to see what it would do macro wise with the 10s small 5.6x sensor.

Anyway, I noticed that one of the contacts on the lens was corroded a little and cleaned it off and figured I'd get a cheap Canon to see if it was really that easy, so bought a 10d that looked hardly used cheap and discovered that there was nothing wrong with that lens. Started using it and decided I sort of like Canon stuff. Anyway, fast forward to now and after reading up decided that I had to get a 1d because that is where it started. Looked for a nice looking cheap one and ended up buying this one. Looks like brand new, works great and my first click made 5002.

Since I started in Pentax, ME Super SE and K1000, I stuck with them. Love my K1 for low light non flash shooting. It amazes me every time I use it. Stumbling on to Canon by accident though, it seems I favor it for anything in the long lens area, and as soon as I read that the 1d had a ccd sensor, that was it, had to have one.

Speaking of Nikon, my son uses that brand. Just found him a like new 7200 with a less than 2K shutter count.

I would have kept my 1D classic if it were not for the batteries.

I sold my 1D classic and 1Ds classic bodies due to the batteries. The 1DIII is my new "classic" 1D body with a modern battery.

I really did like my 1D classic and the 1Ds RAW files though!

Very best,

I wish I knew enough about batteries to modify a tray to accept Lithiums, better yet, disposable Lithiums...

You’ve tried replacing the clock/backup battery. It’s a while since I last did mine - should be something like a cr2032 or a cr2025.

Just a thought...

I've been looking to get a 1D, and relive those magic moments from a very capable body I once owned years ago...

I dug up this 1D RAW file from my archives the other day...
