Maybe someone can answer this for me. I just got the 1D mint shape as I posted earlier, well I finally tried it out yesterday and today. I have heard that this thing eats batteries like crazy, I am just wondering how bad. Yesterday put in fully charged battery took about 50 shots battery died. Went out today with another fully charged battery took 15 shots battery dead. These 2 batteries are only 2 months old that I use with my MK2n, I also put a one of these fully charged batteries in at night and by morning it was dead. Has anybody had this happen before?

You mean you were charging it and it died?

Make sure you didn't drain the battery instead :P could be a possible outcome but knowing you own two 1dmk2n's I doubt it.

Check your brightness level on your screen, put it on no review, and fully charge the battery and try again? I have old old old batteries and I am able to get 200max, but I just got a brand new black diamond and have recently gotten 500 shots with it.

Finally. Someone who gets the same battery life as me on a 1d. I get very envious reading about those people who get hundreds of shots per charge.

Interesting thought at the end. I wonder if the 1d does draw from it's battery while not in use.

I doubt it because I keep my battery in the camera and it's always the same. Weird :\

I paid AUD$450 delivered for mine on ebay and in many areas its better then my $3000 5D (AF, fps, etc). These things are a BARGAIN

Wow only $450? I think I might have to look for one of these. Try it out with my 70-200mm. A quick look at ebay shows none at the moment though. Which is good because I don't have the money for one yet

Just have to pick the right one. Some have been going for around $700 which is way too much to pay for a $10,000 camera

 I know what you mean. I just looked on B&H (even though it's American) and there was one for US$750, ends up being AU$1,200! You were very lucky indeed. If you ever get bored of it, you know where I am ;) haha.

These were fully charged batteries all 4 are about 2 months old, these are the OEM's. Just woke up, I put a fully charged battery in the 1D last night at 6pm and one in my MKIIn left both on dinning room table both cams are turned off. Battery in 1D is now dead MKIIn is okay. This does not seem right. Any other thoughts?

I just picked up my 1D yesterday. I've taken only about 100 shots, battery shows full still. Although, I haven't tested the second battery yet. I'm still just trying to figure the camera out.....might be too much of a camera for me...lol

You might have some bad cells in your battery (that is my guess)

I thought of that, but these same batteries will last shooting with my MKIIn's, I am going to buy a brand new battery today and try that, if that doesn't work the person I gat it from said he will trade back.

Well your MKIIN does have a different sensor type...so? Maybe it's just lasting a bit longer with the batteries even thought they "might" have a bad cell or two?

Using 4.5, I've got them to open now, odd though i have to open them up by hitting preview from the drop down menu rather than double clicking the thumbnail.
