My 1Dmk1 was looking old and worn - pale grey colour - so gave it a once over with some rubber restorer.
Now looks almost as good as my 10 month old 5D.

Nice tip 
But mine still looks like new
no wonder with only 9500 actuations on it

Someone on this forum has a link to a download of a software ISO too if you can find it. A standard 6 pin firewire cable should work. Once you get any version of the software you can download drivers from Canon and update to the latest versions of all the software. You might find the original 1D cable on Ebay if you do a search.
