Shot this beauty at a park in Patagonia, AZ while waiting for my niece to get back to the car. They are similar to the Mourning Doves that frequent my feeder here but I love the orange eyes surrounded by the blue. Amazing neck mobility!

Hey what's that clicking noise coming from back there!?

Hmmm! She looks harmless enough.

I better get a closer look...this'll freak her out!

Nice crisp shots and the commentary is priceless. Are you a "snowbird" yourself or a resident?

I was just in AZ for a week visiting my sister. I live in icy Erie, PA where it was in the single digits this weekend. Brrrr! I definitely will go back to AZ in the future, hopefully the near future. So many birds, so little time :)

Hope you enjoyed your visit. Next time you come out, come over and say HI on the POTN AZ group thread. You might stumble across one of our nearly famous spontaneous group shoots!

I seem to see at least a few when I visit Tucson evey month and love some of the looks they can give - you know - like these :) They sure make a better target than pigeon :)

My visit was excellent. I did get together with Tom Ryan, a fellow POTNer from Tucson. We went to Sweetwater Wetlands which was a terrific spot. He also suggested Whitewater Draw which was awesome. I got to Patagonia and Willcox and the Desert Museum as well and all were great in their own way. Next time I'm there I want to hit Fort Huachuca. I'll definitely hit the AZ group thread when I head back :) Thanks!

Sounds like you've got it knocked. I love the area down by Patagonia and it's very high on my "local" places to go visit again soon.

Thanks Sindri! Sometimes the shots just lend themselves to a funny caption.
