So.

After finally deciding to buy LR because I like the workflow, I'm still trying to get the colors as good as I can without a lot of tweaking.
I tried buying a calibration profile, but that didn't work in my case.
I tried some values found on the net, that didn't work very well either.

After a bit of 'trial and error' (essentially 'middeling' the values of the different profiles, and then a bit more tweaking, comparing a few different images between DPP and LR) I got a set of values that work reasonably well for my 1D2, at least when shooting Performing Arts.

I thought I'd share these settings ;)

Shadow tint: +2
Red hue: -14
Red saturation: +6
Green hue: -5
Green saturation: +16
Blue hue: +12
Blue saturation: -6

Additionally, I've set:

Blue luminance: -17
Purple luminance: -9
Blue saturation: -9
Purple saturation: -4

Good idea. I also found LR ACR profiles on the net and wasn't very happy (blew the red channel badly for me).

I'll give yours a go on my 1DIIN and let you know how it goes.

If someone would like to donate a 1D2 to take the place of my 20D, I'd be happy to test them out also! :D

You could off course post your settings for your 20D ;)

I'd like this thread to be filled with different calibration settings.

Not in the least because I'm curious how much variation there is between different cameras of the same type, but also between different cameras.
Who knows, maybe a kind of "median" setting for each camera will emerge so everybody benefits...

I could but, right now, I'm using EJ's settings that I purchased and that wouldn't be nice. :)

Hahahaha. True...
Otherwise I could have posted a few of the settings I found side by side with the resulting images...
I might still post the images, but not the settings I bought :p

I have used the calibration script from www.fors.net/chromoholics (external link) with pretty good results.

Shoot a Gretag Macbeth/Xtrite color checker, load the image in Photoshop, and run the calibration script. It take an hour or so, but the script spits out the values for your camera.

could you post the settings?

Problem is not everyone here owns CS2/3 and so are not able to run that script... if someone could come up with an Elements compatible version, that would be great!

I use EJ's for my 30D and they are almost always right if not they are in the ballpark and a quick adjustment makes it work.

Red hue: -22
Red saturation: +39
Green hue: -9
Green saturation: -11
Blue hue: +2
Blue saturation: +6

Glad to see some using EJPhoto.com Color Profiles. I have the 30D and know 40D profile and they are very accurate and certainly give an excellent starting point.

Here are the settings the ACR script came up with for MY 5D. I've only run the script once -- on one shot of the color checker. I would not put much value in them compared to the profile from ejphoto.com.

Shadow Tint -1
Red Hue -19
Red Saturation +29
Green Hue -12
Green Saturation -14
Blue Hue +5
Blue Saturation +7

Would there also be a call to publish pre-capture sharpening settings for different bodies as well. Since each body can have a different strength in it's AA filter, then the pre-capture sharpening values should be fairly static.
