I visited Australia recently and came across this juvenile red kangaroo. We bonded over some handfuls of grass and he let me take this shot. Quite a poignant image, huh?

It's not as bad as it looks! His mum was killed in a traffic accident and he's being brought up by some cattle station owners. When he's big enough, they hope to release him back into the wild. I wish him all the luck he needs...

It feels like he's in gaol

Hmmm a cattle station owner that cares about a kangaroo? Something smells funny here.
Farmers are usually pretty happy to kill them as they compete directly with cattle for food.
