the water looks nice and the rocks in the foreground are nice. the sky is just a bit too blown out/uninteresting (ie no clouds) for me. this spot seems to have a lot of potential though. maybe another attempt on another day.

+Agreed, this shot does have potential. Also it seems a little out of focus, I can't really point out any sharp focal points in the image, maybe some pp sharpening or adjustments when making another attempt at this promising picture will do it.

YEP TOTALY AGREE
with both of you

dont try long exposures in a gale force wind with a borrwed tripod
is what i am thinking now

and i need to work on the prosessing a bit more

It seems a little out of focus, but I agree it has potential. In addition to what others have said, you might want to try taking that same shot at different times of day, to see what kind of colors you get.
