I will most definetley give it a shot to see how it functions.

I did go through the canon ez zooom browser software package and did find a process raw image option, listed in the tool bar on the left side, it's choices

Aquire camera settings
View and classify
edit > edit image> stitch photo's >edit movie > process raw image. Click

It will ask you to select a raw image from camera.

That's are far asI have gotten so far

That's because some of the cameras which use ZB can shot RAW. It by no means means ZB can cope with CHDK RAW.

I'm thinking I got most of the kinks out. Took a bunch of "raw" pics in manual mode, surprised how long it took to get a basic understanding of how it all works....that is the chdk program. Props to the guy who is re-writing code for camera.

I did find it confusing to turn camera on and run firmware update every time....screwed up some shots, raw on, raw off etc. I decided to make the card bootable, no biggy, just follow instructions. No need to worry about loading program, now it's trying to figure out manual mode. One of the biggest pluses was the live histrogram in manual, lets me know where I stand on exposure.

I'm not sure somtimes why canon has a cd with how many mb's on it.....downloaded picasso and it works like a million bucks, coming from a guy who has the original photoshop elements  I found picasso easier to use then photshop...who needs a 115 different "filters" anyway

I did find the raw pics easier to work with, the one place I noticed in paticular was, the ability to shed light on shadowed ares with out burning up everything else.

I know the mighty 570 is in the bottom offerings from canon, but so far I'm quite pleased with the performance. It's performance no doubt hindered by my knowledge more then camera's capabilities !

So here are a couple of raw pics. Hope somebody enjoys them. Comments welcome as allways

Thanks for that thread abuseddog.

It is hard for me to stomach how much Canon limits those powershots!
I mean the stuff CHDK offers and enables those camera to perform is mindblowing!
I mean, compose livewiew with live histo and raw! Wowz!

It's all in the bag.
