Thought this view was a little different to the usual.

Thanks for the comment Mitch - the more common name for this bird is a Lapwing.

You would certainly know one if you saw it flying - very distinctive and often quite mesmerizing to watch! Actually I couldn't believe I was seeing the same bird on the ground that actually flies in the air!
Not sure if anything similar exists in the states though?

@OP Interesting shot - I wonder if the coloured rear is used for display purposes during courtship?

Nice shot of the [peewit] lapwing ,ive not seen one for years , must be around though on farmland , ill have to have a look around , good work .
