Anyone know where to buy these? It's the strap that comes with the 5D--mines looking a little ratty and I'd like to replace it, but no one seems to carry it.

Seen here:

Or even the L6 strap that comes with the 1D cameras:

Thanks!

Tim

Best bet's going to be to call Canon Parts (732-521-7230).

Last Canon strap I used was on my 20D. When the POTN strap came out, I changed over to that, and no way am I going back. Have you looked at that one?

Get the POTN one for $22 or so. It's so worth it. Comfy and no "Steal me" label on it. :)

Also, there are extenders and I bought them for my 40D. They work great. I can carry my cameras now they don't bump into one another. :)

Thanks for the tips!

I actually have a couple of the OpTec straps that I use when I know that I'm going to have the camera around my neck all day. Otherwise, its kind of overkill for the times when I just have my camera and a small lens mounted. Its also kind of bulky to shove in the bag. The Canon straps fold up nice and don't take too much room in the bag.

Thanks for the number Jon, I'll give Canon parts a call and see what they say!

No dice at Canon Parts either. I just called the Canon parts number, they don't have strap, and neither does the Canon sales department. All that they have are the L3 straps, which I have and are not so good.

MDJAK, Mark from NY had a really comfy strap the last time we met. Give him a PM and he can probably tell you where he got it.

Do yourself (and your neck) a favor and DONT buy another on of those. Get the POTN one which is the Op/Tech Pro Loop. They are about the same price and youll like it much better. :)

If you really want one, there are many on ebay:

Do a search using the terms canon strap and you'll come up with gazillions.

So, I actually wound up getting a few straps via WTB posts in the marketplaces, etc... so I'm all stocked up now. ;)

I also ordered what was advertised as an Official L6 Strap from eBay--this is what supposedly comes standard with a 1D(s) MKIII. It came in a bag stapled to a Canon branded hanging display. I've never seen a 1-series strap in person, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but this strap isn't like the standard 20/30/40/5D straps that have a course woven texture to them. This is more finely woven material, and the Canon logo isn't white, its more gold/silver.

So my question is, is this an authentic Canon strap, or a knock off? Its actually a pretty comfortable strap and seems durable, so I'm happy with it. Just curious from you MKIII owners if it sounds like the straps that came with your camera. I will try and post a picture of it later.

Sounds like the (unopened) one I have for my 1D 3.

The L6 straps that comes with the 1D/1Ds Mark III is gold/silver on the Canon logo. By any chance do you know if the seller has anymore or their username? I'm looking for that particular strap myself.

I don't see that he has any right now, but it could be worth contacting him. Here is his info:
