Sooo......
I've got SD cards. Lots of them. Want a camera that only accepts CF cards. Can anybody link to a place I could buy an adapter? I did a forum search and all I found was a reference to them existing, nothing else.

If you can list all your gear in your sig line, you don't have enough stuff.

Sell 'em and buy some decent CF cards. Sometimes people are on here to trade.

bought 1 from ebay. works fine on my XT .
Particularly useful if you have a OTG hard disk. Snap all the pictures, 1 button gets all the picture into hard disk.
SD copies faster via USB with a card reader too..... find it useful.
Just wanna ask if anyone used it with SDHC before. ESP those 8GB and above. Thought of getting 1.....

I bought one to have just in case from ebay. Seems to work great.

I have been using one, on my rebel, and Xti for a total of 3 years. No problems yet. I have a Micro SD on a SD convertor, and then a CF convertor. It's great, I can use the cards on my other devices when I am not shooting.

I have been using something like this:

high speed 8gb CFs are much more expensive
8gb SDHC can be double use as a portable drive. my 1gb 80x apacer CF takes 30 minutes to fully copy via CF card reader usb to my portable hard disk whereas a 2gb SD takes 8 minutes full.
Will try to borrow a SDHC and use it with my EagleTec (Bought at Ebay) SD-CF converter. Hopefully works...

Let me know how that goes. I have a couple of 4gig SDHC Sandisks lying around and since I only have 1x 4gig CF, I can put the SD's to use.

I just got this converter:

I talked to their support before-hand, and they said all of their SD to CF converters were recently upgraded to support SDHC cards. So not all converters may work with SDHC if they dont mention it probably.

Even the fastest SD cards are slower than "fast" CF cards - that's part of the reason for the disparity.

I prefer the format of SD cards, but the speed of CF cards... Oh well!

Edit: Sandisk Extreme IIIs are 30MB/sec and Extreme IVs are 40MB/sec.... The same Sandisk SD Extreme IIIs are 20MB/sec

How fast do you think your Canon eqpt. writes to that card? Or is the concern transferring to the computer?

I don't have the link handy, but there is a site that tests the various cards in various cameras.

On my 40D, my 8GB Extreme III is faster than my 2GB Ultra II (30Mbit versus 20Mbit)

That'd be Rob Galbraith (external link). On the 1D3, he shows the SanDisk Extreme III SDHC 4 GB, for instance, as 30% faster than the SanDisk Extreme III 4 GB CF (13+ MB/sec vs. 10+ MB/sec). On the 1Ds III these numbers are almost reversed (SDHc performance is a little faster at 14+ MB/sec while CF is up to 17+ MB/sec).
