Just got my 70-200 f/4.0L in the mail from B&H today, so I took the wife out on the balcony and took a shot of her.
M mode, ISO 320, SS 1/200, aperture f/5.6, and flash for fill to get some catchlight in her eyes.
I think I'm going to like this lens.

Nicely done.
1. An amazing model, OK the same amazing model.:-)
2. Distance from amazing model?
3. The entire amazing model is wonderfully sharp while the foliage back round is nicely oof.

Conclusion: Model and lens are keepers. Congratulations on both.
Keep up the good work.

Randy,
Nice shot. You ARE going to like that lens. Besides, your bride doesn't know how to take a bad photo, so she's making you look good!

Thanks everyone.

Skip, I need to get a few more wives so I can get more models. :)
I was pressed up against the wall of the house so I was probably about 10 ft from her.

Just shows how versatile that lens is, to be that close and still have the reach when you need it. You will be having fun with it for sure.

No need for new models, just post more images of this one;-)a

Great shot...and keep posting! You are a good photographer, and you have a beautiful subject. That 70-200 should allow you to do some more close-up shots.

I have the same lens. It is a top notch, choice lens. Can't beat it for value and image quality. I must say your work just keeps getting better and better. love the contrast, color, lighting and focus of this exposure. Very excellent subject too. Congrats on your lens.

Practice, practice, and practice some more, and when you think you have got it right, start over.
