I might get some tickets to go see the globetrotters at the Honda Center in Anahem, CA. I was reading their camera policies and this is what I read.

"...No video, audio or cameras with professional lenses (maximum 6 inches). The camera policy is subject to change depending on each show's individual policy. ..."

Has anybody being there without a press pass. What camera and lens did you bring ? Was flash allowed.

I already have the 100f/2.8, but I was thinking of renting the 200/f2.8, 100f/2 or 135L, since they are under six inches long.

They may beat the 6" rule but it would be hard to argue that they were not professional (quality) lenses. I guess it rests on how zealous the security that spots you wants to be. He would have to have a white stick and a dog not to spot you with those lenses

Thanks! I called them and as long as you don't show with a FLAK-88 type lens (600mm :) ) they will let yo bring the lens. The other rule is that the camera must not be able to shoot video.

I am wondering which lens (24-70, 70-200 2.8 IS, 70-300 IS) I could bring to the Celine Dion show on Nov 29 at Honda Center ?

I wouldn't automatically assume that what works for the Globetrotters will work for a major headliner like Celine Dion...

Performer's management rules generally trump venue policies.

LOL so that disqualifies the 5D MkII ..... and just about every mobile phone on the market.
