Bwhip. Very nice. I cannot get two (2) Goldens to stay put long enough for a good pic, let alone five (5).

Thanks! It was especially difficult this time, since we didn't bring any bribes, er I mean treats along on the walk. I had about three seconds to try to get a shot.

As I recall, that one was done with a 580 EX II flash with Sto-Fen diffuser, and a 1/4 CTO gel to give a bit more warmth to match the sunset. I was holding the flash in my left hand and the camera in the right.

To be honest, this is one of those photographs that will make people want to run out and the same gear to hope to achieve half of the same results.

Thanks so much, your thoughtful comments made my day. :)

The sunset was particularly spectacular that evening. I told my wife (already in her robe and almost ready to go to sleep) that I needed to take a couple of the dogs up to the nearby foothills, quickly, to try to get some shots. We grabbed some gear, three (of the five) dogs, and got in her minivan and drove two miles to the trail. Already a little too late as the sun was dropping fast, I knew we wouldn't be able to hike up to the summit where I wanted to go in time, so we found a decent spot with a good view and tried to get what we could. Groovy is a spectacular poser, as you can see, so we wound up with a really nice image.

Thanks again.

A camera didn't make a great picture anymore than a typewriter wrote a great novel.
