oh thanks for the review John.

Mum's got a Mundial knife too, which is why I like them... it's lovely (even though she snapped the end off it)...

I'm looking at these ones...

Oh yummy, they look nice, my old wood block is over 20 years old and is showing it's age..

Last year I bought an electric knife sharpener which works the same as a professional sharpeners one - it works great and my knives are now always totally sharp and safe.

Just as a curious point... I kept on hearing conflicting stories about lens warranties re: grey market/US import lenses and Canon Australia not recognising them...

I just called them and any lens bought anywhere in the world will be warrantied by Canon Australia within the warranty period. People kept on telling me it was either L lenses alone that this applied to or that it applied to none of them but now I know!

Just thought I'd share that... this is probably one of those things that everyone already knows and I'm coming in late but I was happy to find out for sure :p

Mmmmmm, Mundial - yummy

Two of my kitchen knives are Mundial, yummy, keep their edge perfectly.

Don't buy a Furi - they suck - stain horribly despite looking after them well :s

Hmmm....funny....I have a Mundial which won't keep its edge...grrrrrr. And my daughter's set of Furi's don't stain at all and stay pretty sharp (but they are HORRIBLE to hold).

My favourite knives are my lovely Shun Chefs Granton Knives (external link) with damascus steel. They're wicked sharp and could split the atom:D

Damn, Damascus steel in a cutting knife... I so want one!

I was out looking for a really, really nice knife set late last year but settled on a cheaper one as I live in a share house and nobody looks after my nice kitchen utensils properly... I've had really nice baking trays trashed beyond cleaning and they're slowly working on a really nice frypan so I figured I'd put off buying nice knives until I have a place of my own.

When I do, though... mm... those Damascus steel ones look good :p

Thanks Jim.

Here's an example of the 180 as a Portrait lens. Canon 180mm 1/400 s at F 4.50 with ISO 100

Gosh they are wicked looking knives - not a bad price either

i agree also, the furi's are bad to hold, I get blisters from them if I am doing a big job - the Mundial are great for long use.
