Yeah, UQ moved in when the Governor moved out. Eventually though, Gardens Point became too small to house a real university so they moved to St Lucia and now they have a multitude of campuses all over the place.

So do QUT. ;)

EDIT #2: All those photos were taken with Paul's 70-200mm f/2.8 IS USM. Thanks Paul... They're way better quality than what I'd have gotten with the POS 75-300... :p

No sweat! Hmmmm...methinks you have a 'thing' for one of the models:D

Can't say I've ever been there.

Near the entry to the Art Museum, there is this plaque on the wall. It is naturally hidden by a very thick hedge.

What is printed on the plaque? "Here lies the remains of Queensland University. Phew...We're glad we got rid of them!"

Yeah :(

I kinda came to the conclusion that I'd wait till the end of the year and see what's around then. I'd want something primarily for movies, but Lucille (much better half) would also like to be able to slideshow photos on it too (I guess I'd build a little HTPC), and the brightness of the room is also a factor (LCDs are better in bright rooms). It all became a bit to much for me :D

I think I'll end up with a Kuro though.

I concur

Anyways, heading home now. Off to catch another full bus and then get stuck in peak hour traffic on the other one.

I'm trying to track down this studio for hire at West End that I heard about that gives student discounts. I swear... every self-respecting business should have a website. Even if it is just one simple page, it wouldn't bother me. As long as they have some sort of web presence 'cos, for me, trying to find stuff in the yellow pages is like trying to draw blood from a stone.

Ok

No venue suggested yet - it's a long, slow process. I believe it is likely to be in and around the CBD area.
