...another reason why people use MSN is because they have no clue what that means. :p;)

Kids these days! Bah, in my day we used WAIS, Archie and Gopher 'cause there was none of this fancy World Wide Web stuff.
Email was king, but if you wanted to chat online it was IRC or for smaller groups on the same server, talk or the slightly better ytalk. NNTP (usenet) was the forum of the time.

I've heard of usenet. And Gopher. But I'd only heard of them. I was a bit of a nerd back in primary school writing html code and all that shiz, but I didn't get that far into it.

I tried to install IRC about five or six years ago. It seemed too complicated, so I didn't get very far.

Can I get some feedback again on the skin tones on this shot. Not a lot of smoothing going on but I played with the skin tones through a colour balance adjustment layer. Is the colour too flat now?

The others seem to like it, so it might just be me, but it does appear a bit flat on my screen. Her skin also looks a little too blue to me.

If you'll permit me, this is the sort of toning I would go for. But then, I do like a much warmer look to shots like this.

Well i will be down there at some point in time in May thanks to my free flights...

Hmm, there may be a chance I could meet up too. I'm kind of overdue to visit a friend in Canberra. I was going to ride down and then continue south to do the Great Ocean Rd in the same trip. Not sure about going in the cooler months, though.

On my screen, nick's modification looks more accurate... maybe a tiny bit saturated, but the original did have a bit of a blue hue to it...

I'd agree with both points - seemed lacking some depth originally.

Heh!

Well, the really good old days were when my brother and I spent one whole day typing a program into a cassette tape, then running it (after finding all the bugs) to get some paddle ball game. Until our Dad accidentally deleted it! Think it was a commodore 64?

QUOTED IMAGE

I'm looking at this on another computer with a slightly more accurate screen and I can see a difference in the skin tone when compared to what I saw on the other computer. IMHO you may have done a teeny bit too much, Greg. Nick's version is more accurate in terms of brightness and colour cast.

Meanwhile, just doing some family history research and so0oo much is available on the net now. Census records, old phone book entries. Found the listing for my Dad's aunt and uncle from about 1960-1980, same address, same phone no.

My wife has a hand-drawn page that a priest (from her parents' province in Italy) put together - the Formica family tracing back to 1700!
