Yeo is great, really great not a big YKB fan but I do fall a lot more on the folk/reggae/dub/alt-country/rockabilly side of the local scene which would explain it.
I went and saw Yeo's album launch at Alhambra a few months back on the recommendation of a friend, not having heard any of his stuff beforehand, and I was really blown away. Great sound, lots of fun, and his support band are really tight and clean. It's a really professional sound from a group that are really just a bunch of local punters
As for YKB, I have a bit of a soft spot for them as a result of having been to school with the guys (admittedly 2 years younger than them, but played a lot with Charles in particular through the school music program), so while I haven't been to a gig of theirs for a while, I still like to keep tabs on what they're doing and am always happy to recommend them to others.
