Yeo is great, really great not a big YKB fan but I do fall a lot more on the folk/reggae/dub/alt-country/rockabilly side of the local scene which would explain it.

I went and saw Yeo's album launch at Alhambra a few months back on the recommendation of a friend, not having heard any of his stuff beforehand, and I was really blown away. Great sound, lots of fun, and his support band are really tight and clean. It's a really professional sound from a group that are really just a bunch of local punters

As for YKB, I have a bit of a soft spot for them as a result of having been to school with the guys (admittedly 2 years younger than them, but played a lot with Charles in particular through the school music program), so while I haven't been to a gig of theirs for a while, I still like to keep tabs on what they're doing and am always happy to recommend them to others.

I always knew the Irish were better drinkers than the Poms, but come on!

Yeah, that'd be a good spot. If I was looking for part time/casual work then I'd just go to a cafe at Paddington and be a barista/waiter, but now that I've deferred uni and am planning for a ~6 month trip to Europe, I need to be earning as much as possible for the next 3-4 months! :o

Oh, that's harsh......

But to aid my recovery I just spent an hour and a half at Merlo with my boss, talking 08/09 budgets. Worked a treat - coupla coffees did the trick!

Ahhh... i was wondering why you were after so many hours ;)

Thought of labouring? There were a bunch of people putting up help wanted posters for that at uni the other day. Flexible hours and good pay.
