ooh... what happened eh?

And what are they using there?

First I thought it was the lighting, then figured it was the camera. The tech fellow said it was the lens, but we had a spare and tried that and same problem so no idea, it was weird because a strip on the the bottom of the image was well underexposed, so no dead pixels, just an underexposed image.

Yeah, was just doing some reading on a few sites. Seems like pretty limited functionality so far (intermittent audio, dodgy graphics, no sleep mode...)

Might still give it a go when i get an intel based machine though. Just to tinker. ;)

Yeah, worth puddling with if you can getting it going :)

The only thing that doesn't work perfectly on my box is the audio. I get stereo audio just fine, but not 8 speaker surround. I'm hoping some enterprising soul brings out an updated driver.

Sounds like the shutter speed was over the flash sync speed.

No idea what the sync speed is on an Oly though. Most modern Canons are either 1/200 or 1/250.

Hmmm, 1/125, you'd think even an Oly should be able to sync at that speed.

The strip is what made me think of sync speed as if it's too fast part of the image will be underexposed (or black, depending on light intensity, shutter speed, etc).

Yep, Kinnon I'm thinking that's a sync speed issue. Stick it on 1/60 to be sure and see what happens...

Has everyone gone out this rainy friday night?

Yes and no. I had to finish an assignment (3 of 4, yay :D) and it didn't take as long as I thought it would so I stayed in town. I think I went into about four or five shops I'd never been into. :p

re: ANZAC Day... I'm assuming the fact that it is a Friday means no late night trading in town? :| I was hoping to stay and do some riverscape shots after the march, but I think there might not be any pretty lights to photograph. :( It looked so colourful tonight as I walked along the prominade, but alas, I was sans camera and tripod.

Did it do that without the lights? As the others have said, it sounds like a sync issue, so maybe teh shutter is on its way out?

Well I'll definitely be there on the Sunday as there's a planned flickr meet there on that day. Even have a mate coming up from Sydney for it (Sam, that would be Johnno).

Im impressed that so much does work straight up. Seems there are enough drivers out there that work for the stuff in the lappy i want.

May have a tinker a little way down the line.
