Still trawling through the thread catching up, but I thought I'd post this first:

So I toodled along to the second Brisbane strobist meetup yesterday and managed to come away with some decent shots.

The first of which I've posted (one of the last I took), is of Melanie, a stand-in model who had actually come along as a makeup artist.

I've been trying to bowl the pins down in the lane next to me but I can't get it to spin enough.

I tried to take some when I got it home but it was nearly dark out and lighting isn't good in the garage. They're still in the camera - I'll see if I can salvage something. Otherwise I'll try to get some tomorrow.

No, I lost to my son. He has the spin thing down pat, can bowl along the left or right gutter and curve it in for a strike

Yep - made by one of the Gold Coast crew out of a pair of salad bowls (silver) and part of a tube container from a bottle of single malt.
