There is a couple of people on OCAU going on the saturday and i think one or two from flickr as well. Not from here though i dont think.

Yeah, I would have liked to have gone to the Steve Parish talk at PMA on Sat arvo (4:30pm) but I suspect I'm not going to be able to fit it in.

I'll most likely still be at The Morrison (pub) at that time on Saturday, or cruising camera shops with Johnno.

Shops around where?

For straight out design work, you can't beat a vector graphics based tool (ala Illustrator or Corel Draw) but for the end product it's still a mix of vector and bitmapped...... ;)

Ah, that's what I was using Illustrator for... creating vector graphics to import into OmniGraffle to make a lighting template. Hmmm, never did finish that, but then my drawing skills aren't that fantastic (in a polished sense).

South Brisbane, Bowen Hills... I can't remember exactly which ones we're planning on hitting, but Kayell and Dragon Image sound right.

Use what ever tools you can (or need to) to get the job done. ;)

How far are they from the Convention Centre? I have always been keen to hit Dragon Image as the Melbourne store i went to was small.

Definitely not walking distance. Although you could train from South Brisbane station to Bowen Hills Station and then walk from there. Or better still, we could try to catch up and you can hitch a lift with us.

Darn good question, we're out and about in the morning, then a lunch engagement that might go fairly late. Might be available around 3:30/4pm. Hmmm, I haven't checked closing times on these places on a Saturday either...

Ah... Dragon Image:
Saturday 9:00am - 2:00pm

Kayell:
Monday - Friday, 8.00am - 5.00pm

Darn, there goes that idea...

I think there was another lighting place I planned on checking out too... can't remember the name, was sure it was at South Brisbane or the Gabba.... Anyone ?

Are you paying for the plane tickets? ;)

If you lived down here in Brisbane and I didn't have an assignment to do, I'd be in. :(
