Ok, it's been long enough. We all sit here surfing POTN and never meet up. I've met more guys from NYC, NJ, PA and TX than locally. That's sad.

So let's change all that.

Sunday, April 20th, 2008 is the annual camera swap meet/show in Burnaby at the Cameron Rec Center behind Lougheed Mall. It opens at 10am, early birds at 9 - $5 to get in @ 10. It is held in conjunction with a Nikon convention this year so we should shore up the Canon support and venture forth as pilgrims in an unholy land.

There are lots of new products there that you might not be able to get your mitts on in other places. Used stuff is amazing.

Let's meet at 9am at the IHOP across the street (in the mall), have some grub, go up to the Swap Meet, then hit Skytrain to head to a TBD location (downtown I would assume) and shoot our butts off. A good late lunch could be had at any location.

Weather permitting of course.

Now if anyone REALLY wants to, we could drive out to Mission raceway the weekend after to cover the WMRC Motorcycle racing as well. Double Header POTN meet.

If you live within 4000 kms of Vancouver I expect you to be there. I just went to a POTN meet in NYC so let's give out a free breakfast to the person fartherst travelled. I got one from MDJAK in NYC and it's time to pay it forward.

April 20th is PLENTY of time for people to plan. Who's in?

Within 4000 miles of Vancouver? Normally I'd say you're nuts, but hey you did it a week a go. I would love to go, but realistically I can't. Perhaps Mark can go there and represent all of us NYCr's here. Have fun guys.

Yeah, I know, I threw that in there for fun. Mark could come here and shoot some great birds...

Plenty of time for people to plan that don't shoot weddings... ;)

Perhaps Mark can "sponser" people from NYC?

I would love to go to that part of Canada...I always end up in the Ontario region. Pretty cool there too.

Probably a no go since I already have my vacation schedule booked up including a trip to Florida (uh...yeah...nice vacation...) and possibly to Japan.

I have to give it to you Jason...you the man...flying to NYC like that for the meet earlier this month!

I'll keep it open. I don't drive so the mission trip is tough but I'd like to check out the swap meet.

Mission is the week after, I can drive. Both my house and the swap meet are near skytrain.

I'll be there as well.
I've met you Cos, you may still use a 1.4X that I sold you a while ago...
It'll be great to actually take the time to know each other in this corner of the world.

Oh and I'd love to join you the next week end too. I should be able to take some people in my car too (if my wife/kids don't come along).
