Hiviz triggers to set off camera

Does anyone know if you can connect one for these http://www.hiviz.com/k​its/lat.htm (external link) to the cable release of a 400D?

and if so how to make an adapter.

It depends on how long the contact time of the switch is or if it can be adjusted. Due to the shutter lag inherent in all cameras, a longer contact time is needed to trigger a camera than to trigger a flash.

If I'm not mistaken, the remote release plug required for 400D is a standard stereo micro(mini)-phone plug that should be readily available in stores that carry common electronics components. You'll need to double check on the size of the plug, though.
