It seems that after surfing the first few pages of the Canon EOS Digital Cameras forum, I don't see anyone mentioning their 20D.
I realize that Canon has newer cameras out, but it's still a great piece of equipment.
Or did I miss the boat, and everyone else upgraded?

You don't seem to surf enough.

Go there and have some fun. think there are 3 just on that page.

I have mine and will always keep. I plan on getting a 40D soon and a FF next year whether early or late next year. IF the 20D still works, it'll be my IR camera.

I still own one and use it as a backup, if that's any consolation.

I do, its still a darn fine camera.

Although I must admit I'm seriously considering a 1DIII...

I still have my 20D and really have no plans of getting rid of it anytime soon (unless I get a 5D or a full frame camera). I still think it's a great camera and I still shoot with it.

The 20D is a great camera. I have carried my 20D around and photographed many Presidential hopefuls in the past few months with mine. I have made good money and had a lot of fun with my 20D's.

I would dare say that more people are still shooting with a 20D than the models that are being discussed on the first two pages of the EOS Camera Forum combined. Canon sold a boatload of 20D's and performance wise they are still very usable.

You will find as you are on this board longer that the camera forum is generally dominated with talk of the newest models.

Many people get the newest model not out of need, but out of want for the latest and greatest and then the constant "mine's not focusing" thread-a-thon begins.

Admittedly, my 20D is no longer my go-to camera. It's been relegated to my "just out having fun, light weight but still better than p&s" body and so it gets alot less usage.

So between planned shooting events with a 1 series and truly snapshot casual with a p&s, it sees alot less action now.

It is still a very good camera and I too have no intention of getting rid of it. I just have other options now. I can imagine preferring it as my vacationing camera now.

I currently have the 40D but with this new camera on the market the 20D prices are sure to drop at which point I plan on getting one as my 2nd camera. I gave my XT (350D) to my son which I was going to use as my backup. I have encountered situations when I wish I had a different lens on. I'm going to get a 20D as my 2nd camera so I can shoot situations without having to switch lenses and this way I have a 2nd camera with a similar body design.

Cheers,
LeBaron

When I shoot sports, my 20D is my main camera.

There are probably 1000 existing threads on the 20D covering every conceivable topic. Why do we need to keep bringing it up when we can hear every day about some schmo with his/her new 40D? :p

Ran into a guy at a local mini-zoo this past weekend who was shooting with a 20D. He ended up asking us to snap a couple shots of him/family with his cam.

20D is alive and well it seems =)
