Because use wears things out. My 20D is certainly not in the condition it was new. If the question was "Does anyone drive cars from the 80's anymore" then you'd be surprised not to get a "I still do" - a car from the 80's is not going to perfectly reliable simply because use has worn it out.

I somtimes carry my 20D in the back of my 1982 motorcycle...

My 20D is my primary camera so all my shots are with it. I decided to take a break from the body battle (I lust after a 5D) and work on some good glass and lighting.

Now HERE's a photographer that has his priorities in line! I've been resisting the temptations for years to buy a digital SLR, and finally bit the bullet this year. I like the lenses i have, but have already learned about their limitations. Soo, I too will pursue better glass....

Still love mine. Might not have all the bells and whistles but it's still a truly solid performer when it comes to IQ and it still puts Nikons to shame. :) Just the other day i was doing a side by side ISO comparison with my friend's D80 and ISO3200 (ISO4000 http://www.dpreview.com …ws/canoneos30d/page20.asp (external link) )on the 20D had less noise then ISO1000 on the D80.

The 20D has worked well for me and an excellent replacement for my previous DSLR and SLR's. Initally used primarily for action photos I now use it for almost any type of photo/subjects.
My first DSLR the 300D (no laughing please) is still a solid performer in it's own right especially night timed exposures and is the only digital back up for the 20D. Esepecially able to share batteries which saves on charging different types.
If there's a complaint on the 20D it's the occasional fast drain on a pair of batteries but other wise it take a licking and keeps on ticking. It maybe replaced but not till there's new glass and then maybe the 40D or the replacement for it. Ken

hope to exchange it for the 50D in a few months :D not too keen on the 40D. 40D is a nice cam but the upgrades over the 20D are just not worth paying 1100E for it having the 20D working just fine and pleasing. At least for me.

I still shoot 100% with my 20D. Within the year, I will be adding a 5D (or hopefully 5DII), but I will be keeping the 20D for sports. IF the 5DII matches the 20D frame rate, then I will use that for sports and keep the 20D as a backup or convert to IR. I'm keeping my 20D.

There's plenty of people still shooting with their 20D's. I see a lot while walking around the city.

Love my 20D! my 40 just stopped working and I've had it a total of 3 hrs and 45 minutes.

Actually, I do still drive a car from the 80's. It's not my main mode of transportation, but I have an 85 Toyota pickup that I use for running around town. And it runs great. It passed a recent smog test with flying colors too.
Granted, it doesn't still look like it did when it was new, but it still performs.
