Does anyone have the 100-400mm is the tripod mount ring for it the same as the 70-200 f/2.8 or the 70-200/f/4 by chance?

::John:: wrote in post #5877904 (external link)
I have the 100-400 and the 70-200 f/2.8 (non-IS) and I just went and checked - they are different.

::John:: wrote in post #5878026 (external link)
Colour me stupid. - I was trying to put one on the other lens - backwards!

They are the same mount (Tripod Mount B (W) - it says on the plate)

*ducks for cover*

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

^ Good one! LOL, I was a little confused by all that several months before I bought my 40D (I had only downloaded and read the users manual), but as soon as I got my camera in my hands it made perfect sense. LOL

I dunno, I guess that was a camera related issue, but I am not sure because it is really more of a computer issue. if that counts then all the hardware issues I am having right now would possibly qualify... and I really don't deserve to be in a thread with LR. so... anyway. :D
