Matt I posted that to show that the 24L is not all that bad when it comes to bokeh as some round POTN think. It ain't the 200 2L or the 85L but its not all that bad.

Thanks for the nice comments! I appreciate them. We need to get the baby a calendar, however. Apparently he didn't know he was due...my wife is down playing the piano right now:) No signs of junior making an entrance yet.

One thing about this thread, I wish I knew what kind of glass everyone was using for their shots! (I used a Tamron 90 BTW)

We'll be thinking of you and wishing you well! (I hope your wife is playing something soothing on the piano!)

Re the glass used in this thread...it will be everything from kit lenses to Zeiss's finest.
I use an old EF100 2.8 macro, EF70-200 F4 IS, EF300 f4 IS...all good Canon glass but not the very top of the line these days...price wise that is. But on this site, with the restrictions imposed by resizing, who knows? Or cares for that matter, though like you, when I see an exceptional shot my curiosity is aroused!

I just grabbed an "EXIF viewer" plug-in for Chrome, so I can now tell that your shot at the top of this page was at 300mm, which is helpful when I'm really curious about something. I agree with you that there is something to be said about not worrying about that stuff, but on the other hand, it can be inspiring. If a really terrific shot was taken with the Nifty-fifty, that can really get me going...

Mook,

Without using your EXIF viewer, pick out the Nifty Fifty. :)
