Go look at the original post of this thread and you will see it's not about technical definitions about bokeh, but about having fun posting shots of any kind of "smoosh"!

Smoosh is a much better word :)

I was not attempting to criticize any pictures that were posted. There was a question about the meaning of the term and I very briefly answered it. When that answer was challenged, I defended it. Sorry for the detour. Back on track.

This was taken with my old and discontinued 75-300 f/40.-5.6 IS. I never understood why I got such inconstant results with this lens. Most pictures tended to be soft, particularly when wide open and fully extended. This picture, though, is (I think) very sharp and was taken at f/4.0. But the bokeh is, I think, usually pretty nice.

The guy at the corner store (he thinks I'm his brother - at least that's what he keeps calling me! Don't matter, I forgot my credit card there the other day and he was kind enough to keep it for me. He only charged a couple of grand on it):

Whew... I've been out of touch for a while! I didn't have a phone signal or internet for a few days, but I just uploaded three shots on flickr! Hope everyone's doing well.

It's been in my family for about 50 years or so. It's made from zinc from a smelter in the town I grew up in, my dad worked there producing zinc so it's dear to me.
