Does anyone have any experience with this printer? It is printing extremely dark from my Mac Pro out of Lightroom. I just set it up, and haven't really messed with it much, but from the 4 photos I have played with, only one came out almost OK, and I boosted the exposure and brightness up in lightroom, and put the brightness to +3 in printer settings. that doesn't seem right.....?

30D w/Grip; 10Dw/Grip; 70-200 f/4 L; 17-40 f/4 L; Canon 50mm 1.8 II,; Tokina 10-17 f/3.5-4.5; 580EX, 430EX. lotsa' memory, lotsa' batteries. Macbook Pro 2.16 15" w/2 gigs RAM. Mac Pro 2.66 Quad w/5 gigs RAM. Adobe CS3/Lightroom

Yours is the classic story of an un profiled monitor. They are always set far, far too bright by default and need to have the screen brightness turned down, sometimes by as much as 50%.

Invest in a monitor calibrator. At least then you will know where the problem isnt!

I have a similar problem with the ES20. Prints come out darker. The same photos printed with another printer does not have this problem.

So it is not the calibration of the screen.

Can someone explain how to overcome this problem? Every time I need to increase my brightness level and details get washout in the final printout to get decent photos.

i have a Sony dye sub...same concept as the Canon, same crap... prints are totally off. Printing to my Epson 2400, I have zero problems other then the usual gamut differences that need to be accounted for in PS.

By trial and error I created my own settings to print to it and created an Action in PS. Fortunately it took only a few prints to get it right.

Bohdan - I may be, and probably am, completely wrong.
