Here's my dumb photography thing (some of you will get this one): I put on my Lumiquest flash diffuser without returning the 580ex wide-angle flash filter back into it's slot. I'm firing and wondering why: 1) My photos are not exposing correctly and 2) why the hell is the display on my flash blinking?

Moron. It blinks when you're doing something moronic, moron. In this case, the wide-angle filter was pulled out and the flash was aimed vertical.

My first ERR99 was on the job! After I went through the whole ordeal of taking out the battery and CF card and putting them back in, I proceeded to reformat my CF card... I still thank Canon for putting a confirmation message there.

Spent half a day shooting at the zoo here in Seattle with the WB set to Fluorescent. And on a perfect Seattle winter day (cloudy, but not raining.) All the pictures before I noticed the problem had a not-so-interesting brown tinge. Turns out I bumped the setting because I wasn't used to my new gloves yet.

Thank goodness for white balance correction in PP.

Numerous times i have started taking shots with the lens cap on

This one's not photography related but woke up in the middle of the night still half asleep to go to the toilet but end up lifting the lid on the garbage bin in the pantry  Luckily i realised what i was about to do and stopped.

The dumbest thing I did was while taking photos at a friends wedding. I had the flash head pointed towards the ceiling for some bounce. Then they went outside for some dancing. When I tilted the flash head back down, I went past the 90 degree position, and got the flash head pointed down for close up photography. It took my about a half an hour to figure that one out under pressure.

Hopefully we all learn from our mistakes. Fortunately, I insisted that they hire a pro to photograph the wedding, and not just rely on me.

That was smart.

I was snapping some shots at a wedding with my old G2 many years ago. I was using the built-in flash, and had a wide-angle lens on it. When I looked at my shots later, they all had a dark semi-circle on the bottom that effectively ruined every shot. It was a shadow cast by the wide angle lens. Fortunately, those shots really didn't matter. There was a real photographer with a real camera there.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

I did that at first too, I have the 16-35 and when i'm not using the speedlite, it casts a shodow from like 20mm and lower, I sometimes use it to my advantage though...makes for a cool effect

I went for a 30 minute drive, only to realize i forgot my battery. i went home, retrevied it, and drove back to the same spot, only to realize i forgot my memmory card also.

Left my ISO on 800 when we went outside for the group shots for a wedding. Fortunately with a bit of NR the shots were OK.

Formated a card with 2gb of pictures that i never downloaded to my HD, because i thought i did.

Shot the majority of a shoot with -1 EC dialed in, RAW saved me.

30mm, 50mm, 85mm, and some zooms here and there.

Not sure if this one fully qualifies, but I think it is worth a shot.

I was tasked with shooting a great Football Player at his last Pro Game, and took it like it was no big thing.

Turns out that at the event, I spent kneeling/standing some 30% of my frames within a couple of yards of an alleged Mr. Joe Montana.

I left the event that day, next morning only to find plenty of photos of Joe and parts of my arm in a couple of them, but at no time during the game/shoot did I notice I was standing around one of the greatest players ever.

At first, I blamed it to being foreign, and not a huge NFL fan. As that did not really work, I have since blamed it on Stress, and the anxiety of my first shoot in a packed Stadium full of screaming people.

Yep, I do that all the time, love it.
