Hi everyone. I'm a born-again amateur photographer, after many years of absence.
My experience was in film SLR cameras until about 1 yr. ago.
Now that I'm retired from the working world, I'm giving digital a try.

This photo is from a self-assigned session in my basement gym.
Yes, I'm the subject 'hiding' behind the Heavy Bag.
My Photogenic 600 WS strobe is (suprisingly) still operational.

Very interesting photo. I only thought bags hit back in the movies but yours has some serious "guns."

Welcome to POTN and please don't hit me... :)

Thanks FlyingPhotog...........I hung up the gloves a while back, but try to stay in shape with 'Fitness Boxing'. I'm a kinder-and-gentler hammer these days.
Someday, I hope to own some of that nice "L" glass like you !

I'd be glad to have a physique like yours now, and I'm more than 30 years away from retiring! I really like the shot, though since you're using strobes, I wonder how it would look if the whole shot was in focus.

Great b&w conversion too!

goatee asks

wonder how it would look if the whole shot was in focus

Good question, and I don't know the answer. I should have stopped down to F16, and checked that out. It was tricky (for me) because of using the self-timer, then having to run into the setup without tripping on cables, ect..
I need much more practice in this new digital world !

-- thanks for the other 'welcomes'.

You might look into getting a cheapo wireless remote off eBay - will make life much easier!

Very cool, flipstyle72. I was / am a welterweight myself.
Maybe it's just me, but I think that B&W photography is 'made' for boxing photography.
