1D MK111 slower than D3.

I see people are saying that the 1D MK111 is faster than the D3 but that just isn't true.

The 1D MK111 manages 101 megapixels per second whereas the D3 churns out 108.9 megapixels per second.

Not that I'm buying one of course!

But the sheer number of MP crunched is a small measure of 'speed' - focus, frame rate, buffer emptying, the list goes on

Who the heck measures megapixels per second.

graphics cards measure Gpixel/s fill (my old, old card did abou 1.4gp/s)... by the same comparison, a 1dsmkiii would churn out 105.5MP/s... i'll bet you most people don't use more than 3fps on average though, hell, my mkIII is usually in the 1-5fps range except in sports..

GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB can do 41.6GP/s.. rather Gt/s, which is even more...i'de like to see you buy enough cameras to match that
