Personally I would crop them much much tighter. Otherwise they are nice photos with right timing. Here are few samples from our database
how "typical" gs photos should be cropped... at least for agency/newspaper usage.

With my sports work, I keep trying to get my self to crop as tight as I can, but for some reason I always fall short, it is like I am afraid or something.
