You forgot the pot of gold you'll need to buy all that stuff. ;)

it is not that bad, really..

the kit I linked is 100$ +\- shipping, Sunpack 383's are 80$ on amazon, so where is the pot of gold at I will only raid a very small portion ( under an oz. last time I checked the price of gold..and still have enough for a Beer or 2..)

So $260 +\- and you are almost in business plus the cost of poverty wizards or skyports.

I had a great deal on my kit yesterday.

I got :

2x Nikon SB-28 speedlights with their leather case
1x Stofen diffuser
4x Cactus V2 triggers
2x 7' Light stands
2x Umbrella brackets
2x Double fold umbrellas

For 220$

I'm sure this kit will be great to learn the basics of off-camera lighting.

I have a good reason for the 4 lights.
1 580 EXII Main
1 580 EXII Fill
1 383 Hair
1 383 Back ground

If I am shooting on White paper then the two 383 become back ground lights to blow it out. I would rather have one to many lights then need a light and not have it.

LOL. I realise this is an older thread, but was just reading through and when I read this I had a mouthful of coffee and it nearly ended up on my monitor. Funny stuff.

I have

2x sunpack 383
cactus trigger reciever
impact umbrella lightstand kit

Looking to get another 383 or maybe 430,580.

Only thing is i hate the brackets that hold the umbrella and flash on the impact kit. Can anyone point me to another bracket and hot shoe adapter? This one feels very lose and doesnt feel like the flash will stay on. Or another type of screw to hold the flash in there? I know ive seen people switch out just the hot shoe and kept the bracket, can anyone show me which is a good one that will work w/ the impact kit and will make the flash stay on there? Thanks.

Well, if it's just the flash shoes you don't like, you might want to replace the standard issue shoes on the Impact brackets with a pair of these *very* popular Stroboframe adjustable shoes:

They'll put a death grip on your flash foot.
