this is the first time I have posted any pics here, I have been browsing most of the night (at work) and now that I am home, I wanted to jump in, there's so much I have learned just by reading the posts here!!

I took these last Saturday, while on an adventure with my husband, looking for deer in a heavy snowfall,, we had success!

Very nice deer pictues... Welcome to POTN...I really like the cute face of the first one.

The group pic shows how spooked the can get, even before you get a chance to take another pic. Next second, they could be gone... Keep posting/sharing your captures... Cheers.

EDIT: You might want to try "spot metering" on the eye, and possibly raise your ISO from 400 to 800... This will enable you to increase your shutter speed from 1/250th at 300mm to possibly 1/500th... It seems that nearly always deer are in the shadow of the woods, and lighting is always lower than everywhere else.
