On any Sunday, you will see these boys (and some girls) scooting around the hills of the Black Spur near Healesville in Victoria. I took the opportunty last Sunday to take a few pics of the brave and foolhardy...

That Sunday was a sublime Melbourne day. Anyone who rides a mc and was not somewhere like the spur needed their head read. Great shots. BTW #6 looks at the same vantage point as 1, 2 etc. was he doing it easy? looks like he was putting others to shame relatively speaking :)

Thanks Guys...

Yeah, No 6 took me by surprise. When he came around the bend, I was expecting another superbike.... but this joker that looks like he was cruising, was nearly scraping the pipe on the road...looked like he was having fun at least...

For my own critique, I will use a wider aperture next time to improve on the bokeh, and a slightly slower shutter speed, maybe around 1/800 would suffice.....

Any suggestions on a recommended shutter speed ?

Many Thanks,
Barry.

Looks like fun. Nice shots.

pic 6 looks like he's going to spill. pic 7 looks like he got the wrong bike. Looks like typical harley road bike guy.

Do you just sit on the side and snap pics for a while? Do they mind?

A few of the riders stopped and wanted to buy the photos, and a couple of guys stopped wondering if I was a cop or not... they were quite happy once they realised that I wasn't.

.... and you are right, Pic 7 looks like he belongs on a Harley.... must be similar here to the US...

Many Thanks,
Barry.
