I just finished my first shoot with my newly acquired 1dmkII and I have to say except for the field of view in the eyepiece I love it.

Oh, its killing me having to wait until Tuesday to get my 1D2! It doesn't help that I've been reading this entire thread (only half way through) and looking at everyone's great images...

Waiting has to be the worst thing!

What was the price and condition and how many clicks? :)

The prices was a straight trade for my 50D. No cash involved! It is in excellent condition, only a little brassing by the main shutter button. It is used, around 80K on the shutter. So, not too bad; it still has plenty of life left in it!

I never thought of this as FOV, but as actual coverage. It's a little smaller than a 5d, but much better than a xxD.

I'd say you made out ahead with that few clicks on the body!

I just hit 26.5k on mine, almost unheard of

Actually, going back and looking at the post, he said 60K, but second shutter. The first shutter fragged after he had it only a year or so. He is the original owner.

I would like to sell my mint condition 1D mark II body for $1000.00 or trade for a 40D body with grip and extra battery. This is a well taken of body with Zagg covers on the screens from the day I purchased the body. I have not used it since I put it in the box afer I got my Mark III.The body has about 60,000 actuations after a new shutter went in it. I will also consider interesting trades .Images upon request.

If you want to selectively do it do a feathered select on the area you want to do NR on and then run only the first step of the action. The action's designed more with retaining detail in mind, so running it on the whole image won't cause you to lose anything that was there to begin with; if anything it'll pull some stuff out that you wouldn't have seen as well otherwise. It runs one pass over the whole image that does most of the NR, then another pass over the shadows that removes noise and sharpens any details that it happens to find there. I've posted examples of it run over an entire image, but here's an extreme example at ISO 3200.

It might work in CS - Neat Image works in CS, so if the actions load up it should work fine.

I've downloaded the free version of Neat Image but it only works on the center of an image. I will get the pro version and give it a try!

When set the camera (1D2) for "Sensor Cleaning" via the Menu. Does the mirror suppose to be locked up for the sensor to be exposed ? The Manual only says :"the LCD monitor will turn off". Do I need to lock up the mirror manually in order to clean the sensor? If that's the case then what's the action the "sensor cleaning" in the menu does?
Thanks for your help.

Sensor Clean mode does this for you.

All you need to do is:-

1) Put camera into Sensor Cleaning Mode (It will prompt you to follow the instructions.
2) Press the shutter button. You'll hear it go "click" as the mirror comes up, but you won't hear the "clunk" you normally hear when it flips down again.
3) Take the lens off the camera and look inside. You'll be able to see the sensor down there (which is usually hidden by the mirror).
4) Clean the sensor
5) When you're done, replace the lens and turn the camera off (you'll hear the "clunk" as the mirror is released and comes down to the normal position again.

Job done.

Oh, make sure that you have a decent charge in your battery. If the charge level is too low then the mirror will flip down when the camera powers off. You don't want that to happen while you're cleaning it.

I just talked to the guy I traded my 50D for his 1D Mk2, he is including a brand new battery (3 total) and 2 4GB CF cards. He's shipped it today; I should have it by Wednesday at the latest!

Oh, I hate waiting!!!
