3 batteries will go a looooooooooooooong way with this camera.

That would equate to about 3,000 shots long for me .

I bought two new Lenmars when I got my MkIIN and I get 3000 shots per charge.

I need to get one of those because my current battery (Canon, in heavy use since 2006) gets about a 1,000 shots per charge. I am using IS on the 70-200 though and that EATS battery for breakfast, lunch, and dinner .

I have been pleasanly surprised at how well they hold up. I mean, they were only about $40 each. I do take care of them right though. I did a refresh first, right out of the package and every other charge. They are holding up very well.

It is worth waiting for.....

Other than focus, how does you 1d compare to the 5d in normal IQ and higher ISO shots? When do you use the 5d versus the 1d?

I have the 5 and am considering the 1dII or N too (by selling my 40d).

Thoughts?

I always want C&C on my shots.

I traded my 5D for the 1D MkII N . If you shoot anything that moves the 5D does not cut it.... I can get similar Landscape etc shots from my 50D. I use a 17-35mm . For Wildlife the 5D is slow 3fps. The 50D has same size files, but speed ...the 1D MkII N is better.......This from my 50D

Wonderful shot, Rich! I love the Thunderbirds! I worked on the F-16 for 8 years.

My wait is all but over...I'm out of town until Wednesday, so before I know it, I will have my 1D Mk 2 in hand and will be shooting away!

Rich, you're making me want to go to an airshow...

Sweet images! You seem to be able to do it all; from hummingbirds to Thunderbirds!

I bet! I was floored when he told me he got a brand new battery and was going to ship it to me later this week. I think he said it was a new Lithium Ion battery (?). I'm thinking more and more, I got a sweet deal on this 1d2!!!

He also will be getting his DC coupler back, so basically it will have all accessories, except CD's. I can't complain about that!

It couldn't be a Li-Ion? All 1-series except the two Mark III's use NiMH batteries.
