Wow, this thread sure has taken off since I posted my first time here at the end of March. This thread was 13 months old and only 167 posts. Now look just 6 months later. People have really found their niche with this camera this year.

Isn't it great? I just got through reading the whole thread. There have been a ton of posts in the past 6 months!

The only complaint I have is that we need MORE pictures! I will certainly be contributing later today with my "new to me" 1D2!!!

I finally got my 1D2 picked up from the post office! I haven't really taken any images yet, just snapped a few to listen to the shutter...

No wonder y'all refer to it as machine gun! And the sound is sweeter than I've ever heard! I can't wait to use it tonight at a junior high football game!!!

I will post images either tonight or tomorrow morning to show off my new gem!

Eric with the firewire cable and EOS Utility you can change the shutter rate via the personal function. They go from 1-8 on high and 1-7 low. I set mine at 6 low and leave the 8.5 for high . I wanted to see what the low was like at 4...That is what the 1Ds MkII has. Then I set it back to 6. It is at 8.5 and 3 for low at the factory settings. You can also put your name in and get rid of the previous owners'. All pics EXIF will have you listed as owner of the pics. Get some practice in before you go. WB temps with flouresents at 2700K-3400K., or shoot RAW and adjust(easier)..Rich

Thanks for the tip Rich! I will give changing the personal settings a try. I shoot RAW all the time, so adjusting WB is no prob.

A couple recent IIN shots. 70-200/2.8 at 2.8. They look a little dark on my monitor at work. I need to keep that in mind when editing on my 24" glossy screen iMac.

I went out and test drove my new 1D MkII during the homecoming parade! What a sweet body! Wow!

I figured I would share some first examples from it. Nothing fancy...just some snapshots from the parade. Just some USM applied. I didn't even bother to straighten horizons. No C&C necessary, unless you have tips specific to the 1D MkII. Thanks!

They look great! I didn't see the exif info. Care to elaborate on the settings?

Based on the settings, there's tons of recommendation :)

I'm glad you like the body. Did you hit the backlight button yet? (don't say what it is, that's the running secret on the forum :) ;) )

I've got a 1D2, and I'm not bothered by the smaller LCD over the "N". Overall the 1D2's are phenomenal machines. I hope I can hold onto mine, I'm going through some financial difficulties lately **sigh**

moew!!!!!
