When the MK II came out, I drooled over it, literally, when I saw the pics on Canon's site. Then my 2 co-workers bought 2 each during that special Dell sale. Of course I couldn't afford it so I got a 20D.

Two and a half year and 9000 shots later, one of my coworker's MK II was mine for less than 1/2 of what he paid.

They now all got rid of their MK II's and one got a MK III and the other went with a 5D but I'll keep this one for a looong time.

Still learning all the good points about mine, have a lovely 24-70 with it, and a 70-200 f4, will sell my soul for a 300 f2.8 to go with it......

^^ I know what you mean; it is budget-dangerous to put a 300 f/2.8 on the body.

Aint selling mine in a hurry. I think my next body will either be a 5D, its replacement or more likely a 1DsII to go alongside the 1DIIn

I love my 1D Mark 2 for the wildlife and bird shots, and I love my 5D for portraits and landscapes. It just doesn't get any better! :D

Ive been shooting My 1D MkII as my #1 shooter since 2004.
It only recently became "second body" to the mkIII.

I had one of the first ones available in the US, from B&H's very first batch, an "early model" and it has been trouble free the whole time.

It's been sprayed with saltwater more times than I can recall, survived the punishment of 3 weeks in Africa, dropped, banged around in various bags, mounted to more different lenses than most people see in a lifetime, and often.

For three years it was Canon's most versatile single Camera.

If I had a 1D, I'd take it out in the rain and laugh hysterically while I shoot away.

The IIN is my next camera. I'm a sucker for good deals (my wife calls it being tight), so I'll wait until the prices are unbelievably good and get one.

You guys just have to rub it in until then though, don't you?

Took this shot today at a park where wild geese, swans and ducks layover in the winter here.

They are fed and become tame....for a short while.

1DIIn and 100-400 @100mm and 1/1000.

My IIN is my bread and butter camera. I'm keeping it until it dies.
