Depending on how "old" it is, how far back do EF mounts go, and if its too old, where would i find an FD to EF converter ? Tim

In fact my old 300mm f/4L will focus to a useful distance (not infinity but useful) without glass OR other modifications. A friend of mine uses a fully converted FD 600L on his 1DIII and 7D and it works great, aside from manual focus. flickr

Perhaps he means the 1992 500mm f/4.5L which is an EF lens, should be autofocus. If he really means the FD then it must have an adapter of some sort. Be interesting to see what it really is, sometimes these things turn out to be a Pentax 200mm... flickr
