I'm guessing that if I kept my 1DIIn until it died....it would outlive me.

:D

May you and your 1DIIn have many years together.

:D

I just went to a 5D+30D combo, to a II+IIN combo... and I'm never looking back. As much as I loved the 5D, the 1D's just fit my style more.... Rugged and beefy! lol ;)

It feels good to be at the "end of the road" of sorts... I don't have that nagging must-upgrade feeling now... at least with cameras!

I'm in love with my 1D Mark II

Just came today, had a play with some indoor sports using the 50mm 1.8... (Yes, I know it deserves better glass, someone buy my 40D and I'll get some...)

That fifty never focussed so fast or as accurately before, and the handling of the 1 series is something else, not to mention the high ISO noise is a lot better than I'm used to even on the 40D... I'm addicted!

Just thought I'd share :D

Sweet. I just upgrade to a Mk II myself from a Rebel XT. I got to play with it for a few days before leaving on a business trip. Can't wait to get home and learn more about this one fine piece of equipment.

Enjoy.

Mine just had the shutter blow out :( so it's got to go to hospital...... it's really sad, you'll understand once you've used one for a while.

I have a 70-200m f/4L, 300mm f/4L, right now the only thing I have one is sports, so I can afford to be without a standard.

The 17-55mm IS I just sold is getting replaced by a 24-70 f/2.8L
or a 24-105mm. Plus I want a faster/wider prime so a 35mm 1.4 is on my list but I'll have to get some more money first!!

Me too. Just upgraded from 30d last week. Tested it out this week and pictures are sharp at 700mm. Focussing is much faster in AI servo mode and I love the sound of 8.5 fps.

Really...... the 1DmkII? better than the 40D with high ISO noise? I think the 1DmkII is better at myriad of things than the 40D, but I've never heard what you are saying....Can this be true? My 1DmkII wasn't any better than my 30D's at high ISO noise, overall IQ reminded me a lot of my 30D's...

it isn't better than the 40D in the noise department or IQ.
