Often pros have more than one body so the accessories will either be untouched or thrown in the trash! Sometimes all you get, if you're lucky, is the charger and battery and eyecup.

....so is the Mk2 usable at ISO3200 ? To be honest, I very rarely shoot it there, but at last nights ballgame, I thought I would give it a try just for kicks.
Overall....I'm pretty happy with this and many of the other shots from the game.

Nice shots! Seems like ISO3200 is quite adequate.

Thanks....and yes, I was pretty happy with these. These were all hand held, because the 'rules' of the ballpark is 'no tripods'. I thought they might even turn me away if I had the monopod, so I left it in the truck, because it was a looong walk from where I parked to the ticket booth. So yeah...hand held, and I was at the game with my brothers....so by the time we got to where I had snapped these pix....I...uh....had a few beers ! So I'm not sure if the made me 'more'....or 'less'....steady ! LOL

Just got a Mk II today...now waiting for the lens I ordered. Funny thing is all of the accessories were untouched but the body is well worn. The worn look is kind of cool so I don't mind the wear. It reminds me of this (external link)

Here's a photo (from my G6) of the Mk II and my 7000.

Nice, love that old Maxxum! And that reminds me, I really need to get a Cokin Z kit for my 20-35L!

There's a grouse out at my dad's that likes to follow him around. I got some cool close up shots of it.

This was shot at 28mm. That's how close I was. I actually had to move back a bit because it was too close to focus at times.

just take the time to play around with it...you'll have to use two hands to change a lot of the functions/view photos. Enjoy it! It's an amazing camera

Expose correctly and the 1D2 is your friend :p Underexpose at high ISO's and it won't be as friendly

It's big and heavy and feels wonderful in you hands. In high speed burst the sound of 8.5 fps will give you goose bumps:D I would also fully agree with one of the above posts. ETTR is your friend at high ISO. I've only had mine for about two weeks, and that is one of the biggest things I've found, my 1DMk2N handles up to iso 800(the highest I've used so far) very well. As long as you don't under expose.

I think I hate you:lol: I've been hearing a lot of drumming when I've been out it the woods this spring, and have yet to see a grouse. And after hunting them for years, never thought trying to get close enough for a shot would be possible. And now here you are with one as a "pet" You luck dog!
